Hello Home Shoppe

Valentine's Day DIY: Lacey Candles

Here at Home Shoppe we have been very busy as of late doing all sorts of things related to Home Shoppe and all the other things that life seems to throw at you when all you want to do is hang out and go on adventures. We realized that we are probably not the only people that feel this way and it inspired us to create this quick and easy Valentine's Day craft. If you're looking for a last minute V-Day gift, this is the perfect gift to give to a friend, family member, co-worker, or anyone else that you would like to make smile on Valentine's Day.

So here is what you'll need:

  • Doilies (we found that 4" worked best for this type of candle)
  • Craft Paste
  • Some Glass Votive Candles
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush (optional)
We love our doilies from Knot & Bow!

1.) First, if you use doilies with solid white paper in the middle you will need to cut that out.

2.) Cut the doily in half (if you are using a doily bigger then 4").

3.) Spread craft paste on the back side of the doilies.

No paintbrush, no problem. You can always use your finger :D

4.) Apply the doily to the glass and cut off any extra with a scissor.

If you use the smaller doilies you don't have to cut them, just apply paste, stick on, and trim :D

Ta-Da! That's all there is to it. This can be completed in just under a half an hour (for three candles) and the result is charming gift sure to make anyone smile.
